Data must be attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original, accurate, complete, consistent, enduring, and available regardless of whether it is recorded on paper, stored in an on-premises database, managed in a cloud platform, or generated by an artificial intelligence system. What must evolve is not the principles but their implementation, the technical controls, governance structures, and organizational practices that ensure data exhibits these characteristics in technology environments of increasing complexity and capability. The organizations that modernize their data integrity frameworks to address cloud, AI, and digital transformation challenges, that invest in both the technical controls and the cultural foundations that sustainable data integrity requires, and that treat data integrity as a strategic quality capability rather than a compliance checkbox will be best positioned for the regulatory expectations and operational realities of pharmaceutical manufacturing, clinical development, and commercial operations in an increasingly digital world.
